One of the two opponents Grant will face in an open primary Aug. 14 is Ray Rodrigues of Estero.
“When I announced to run for the open seat, I was asked if I expected to be challenged. My answer was that historically in open-seat elections there were nearly always multiple candidates,” Rodrigues said. “I was surprised, though, that one of them was from Charlotte County.”
Rodrigues said he has no plans to campaign negatively. “I am the local candidate,” he said. “I have lived here for 18 years. I work here. I have volunteered here. I simply tell people why I am the best candidate.”Read Article>>>
